Scrapping for Kim Liddiard

This month I have had a special privilege to scrap exclusively with products from DSP Designer Kim Liddiard. Her style suits my scrapping preferences, as she always has some stamps, overlay and masks included in her kits. That allows me to do to more graphic style pages.

You can see all her designs at the DSP store and read a bit more about her on her DSP profile. She also has a blog and a facebook page.

So, here are a few pages that I made this month so far with Kim's products:

Christmas Layouts 2011

Before I get up to do all the last-minute preparations for the Christmas weekend (pressing the dresses, finishing baking, cleaning up, wrapping some presents, ...) I thought I would post a few of the Christmas themed digital layouts I did in the last few weeks.

Ginger Bread House

It has been a few years since we made a ginger bread house in this household. Since the small children don't remember it, we thought we should give it a try. I baked the pieces on Friday night and put them together on Saturday morning. Then on Saturday afternoon I turned it over to the 13y, 11y, 8y and 4y old. They did a wonderful job in decorating it, don't you think?

Table runner and placemats from old tablecloth

I had this old tablecloth from a donation that I loved, but it didn't fit our table at all. So, I decided to cut it up and make into placemats. I found a small piece of patterned fabric in my stash and used it for the backside (I had just enough for all 8 place mats). Originally I wanted to bind the place mats with burgundy bias tape, but I couldn't find any here, so in the end, I sewed front and back together with a piece of white cotton in between, turned and top-stitched the mats.

There  was just enough of the checkered fabric to make a table runner.  I just made a narrow hem and attached a cotton trim from my stash. I quite like the results.
