Dresses for Tabita - Butterick 4018

I promised my 12y. old daughter a dress for the winter, because she doesn't have any winter dresses. We looked through our fabric stash and she chose a beautiful green stretch velvet. But because I wasn't sure about the fit of the pattern, we decided to make another dress out of a pink velvet (velour?) as a test garment. If it wouldn't work out, it would become a princess dress-up gown =). It was a challenge to work with these fabrics and I learned quite a bit in the process, but both dresses were done before Christmas much to the delight of my daughter. For those interested in full detailed reviews, you can read them at patternreview.com for the pink dress and the green dress.
